Daoist Healing Practice

Ancient Daoist techniques that combine energy cultivation, meditation, and gentle touch to promote holistic healing and spiritual harmony.

Tōng Shén Míng refers to the opening of luminous spiritual clarity. It is the radiant awareness that emerges when the spirit (shen) is settled and aligned with the Dao (Tao).

Through this harmonization, confusion and turbulence begin to dissolve, allowing the spirit to shine with brightness and inner peace.

In healing, Tōng Shén Míng Healing is a practice that gently restores resonance between body and mind, awakening clarity, vitality, and the natural wisdom of your true path.

Tōng Shén Míng 通神明 - illumination of spirit

  • "I came in to see Devyn all broken up and leave there feeling like a whole new person. Excellent service, calm spirit, just a great guy."

Rooted in the ancient Daoist traditions that gave rise to acupuncture and Chinese medicine, Daoist Shamanic Healing addresses the body, mind, and spirit as one whole—restoring harmony with the natural world.

Unlike Western medicine, where these aspects are separated, Daoist healing weaves them together through balance and flow.

This modality works with the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), the dynamic interplay of Yin and Yang, and the circulation of qi through the body’s meridians.

Using a blend of Medical Qigong and Chinese shamanic practices, Tōng Shén Míng Healing clears stagnation, releases blockages, and gently guides your energy back into rhythm.

When energy is balanced, you feel grounded, vital, and whole. When it is disrupted, it can manifest as tension, fatigue, emotional unrest, or disconnection.

This healing practice helps realign you with your natural flow—supporting physical health, emotional resilience, and spiritual clarity.

Benefits may include:

  • Strengthening emotional resilience and inner harmony

  • Alleviating chronic discomfort and pain

  • Supporting immune health and overall vitality

  • Reducing stress, worry, and tension

  • Enhancing focus and mental clarity

  • Balancing digestion and gut health

  • Assisting respiratory challenges and breathwork

  • Easing fatigue and restoring energy after burnout

  • Providing relief from migraines and headaches

Approaches to treatment.

During your Daoist Shamanic Healing session, you can expect to receive a variety of techniques that are aimed to purge toxic stagnation, tonify and cultivate healthy qi (vital energy), and regulate the smooth flow of qi. A few techniques are:

  • Hand gestures and movements: intentional, sacred and spiritual movements of hands that are placed near or gently on the body.

  • Acupressure: gentle but firm pressure on specific points along the body's meridian systems.

  • Sound: vibration and harmonics are used to break up energetic blocks and recalibrate your whole system.

  • Stone medicine: various crystals and stones are used on or near the body to purge, tonify or regulate one's qi.

Restoring rhythm to the elemental dance.

In Chinese energetic medicine, the Five Elements—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—represent the natural cycles of energy that flow within us and the world around us. While we possess all five elements, each person tends to express one or two as their primary or secondary influence, shaping their physical health, emotions, and personality.

When these elements become imbalanced—either overly excess or deficient—it can manifest as physical ailments, emotional distress, or energetic disharmony. Tōng Shén Míng Shamanic Healing works to restore balance by addressing the root causes of these imbalances, harmonizing the Five Elements within, and re-establishing the natural flow of qi. This brings a sense of equilibrium, vitality, and alignment to your whole being.

The shadow of Yin and the light of Yang

Yin and Yang represent the natural balance of complimentary opposites that exists in everything—light and dark, rest and movement, softness and strength. In your body, Yin is the energy of rest, nourishment, and stillness, while Yang is the energy of action, vitality, and expression. Together, they create harmony, like night and day working together to keep the world in rhythm. You need night just as much as day.

When Yin and Yang are balanced, you feel calm but energized, grounded yet motivated. But life’s stresses can throw this balance off. Too much Yang can leave you feeling tense, restless, or burnt out, while too much Yin can make you feel sluggish, stuck, or drained.

Through gentle energy work and guidance, Ling Qi can calm the overactive, recharge the depleted, and create a sense of flow between these two forces. When Yin and Yang are in balance, your energy feels smoother, your emotions steadier, and your mind clearer.

  • "I can tell when I need to go see Devyn for a tune-up– my mind and body will feel on edge and by the time I leave I feel so much lighter and calmer. I now book out once a month to keep on top of my self care. I also love that there’s a crystal store right in the suite, so it’s easy to grab the crystals Devyn recommends after a session. Highly recommend!"
